For many years, people are amazed of how wonderful polar ice cap formed in Polar region. Firm polar ice caps means that Earth is in its natural and balanced condition. But if it’s starting to melt, we can only hope for a miracle change.

Polar Regions.

In Polar Regions where most ice can be found and the temperature is at its lowest level, it’s been observed by the experts that ice bergs are starting to fall frequently from land masses to the area of the ocean. Ice bergs are glaciers that break off. This is a normal cycle. However, it has been said that there are more falling ice bergs now compared before and what’s threatening is that most of it are melting. This is a mere sign that the temperature in Polar region are rising.
The rising of temperature and maybe the melting of icebergs are severely caused by Global Warming. If the rising of the temperature continues then there’s a possibility of polar ice cap melting which leads to the rising of sea levels for up to 230 feet! And within the next four to five years, the ice caps could be melted completely.
If you think the vanishing polar ice caps are bad then there’s worse than that. The global ecosystem might be completely out of balance if these ice caps melt. Polar ice cap are our fresh water resource and of the other species of animals. If these melt, it will go to the ocean and the ocean will become less salty. Less salty ocean leads to rising of temperature. And rising of temperature, leads to imbalance of marine life’s ecosystem or equal to death of millions of marine species.

The Polar ice cap is white and reflects to the sunlight and then the sunlight is reflected back to the outer space thus it makes the Earth cool. But if the ice caps are melting, and the Polar Ice cap is melting, the sunlight will no longer reflect that much sunlight thus the ocean will become darker and the temperature will rise.

It’s a complete disaster.

Now the big question is, how long will the Earth survives? Lets all do something to stop the polar ice cap melting!!!

Global Warming has a lot of impact to every aspect of our world, which gives birth to new or unbalanced climate in different areas in the Earth. In the Polar Regions, the increased heating causes most of the ice to become thin and eventually breaks apart. Evidence shows that some parts of the ice caps that have remained there for a very long time has drifted apart. This means that the frozen seas of the Polar Regions are slowly being made into liquid through global warming.

This issue has not been affecting the people but also the animals that live in the region. Polar bears are among these which are already endangered. These types of bears spend most of their time in cold areas in which they are well adapted to. Although polar bears have swimming capabilities, they cannot swim covering a large distance which is now the condition of their habitat. The melting of the ice breaks it into several parts and drifts along the sea. This gives the bears a big problem in moving from places to search for food. Researchers have already found several bodies of the polar bears floating on the waters. They explained that those bears have died swimming for up to 60 miles across open sea to find food. This is due to the breaking of the ice shelves in the Arctic, which forces the bears to go that distance, and die on the way because of exhaustion or perhaps hypothermia.

If we don’t help conserve the polar bears and protect their habitat, then time will come that they will be wiped out on the face of the earth and we can just find them only in pictures and books.

The shape of the world has been altered with the advancement of technology as well as the explosion of the human population. People are always finding ways to make life more convenient as we are today.

One of the effects of this “change” in the world is the very evident global warming. This phenomenon causes massive destruction on the environment and the living things at the same time.

The melting of the ice caps in the Polar Regions is one of the effects of this warming on the planet. NASA has estimated that the rate of the melting in the Arctic to be 3.4%. This number is very alarming since there will come a time that the polar ice caps will become “ice-free”, meaning water levels rise. Many life forms will be affected by this, such as the already diminishing polar bears.

The Earth, whoever its creator is, is perfectly positioned in space to sustain human life. If we will shift the position of the planet from its axis, albeit slightly, the temperature will become either too hot or too cold to allow survival. And hence with the planet’s perfect placement in the galaxy, we should be really thankful.

We humans however, because of our tremendously increasing population and seemingly insatiable demands for new technologies, have done and are continuously doing activities that are detrimental to the environment. We pollute the air, the land, the water with our factories, our transport vehicles, our trash. One of the harmful effects of these destructive actions is the planet’s excessive polar ice cap melting, which is one big symptom of worsening global warming.

Polar Ice Cap Melting have been very dramatic over past few decades. As mentioned, this phenomenon is a result of global climate change, the temperature across all continents gradually going up as greenhouse gases such as carbon dioxide are trapped in the atmosphere and turning the planet into a big oven.

Polar Ice Cap Melting is controversial in as much as its overall effects to life are debatable. While some studies show that the ice cap melting will not cause dramatic changes in ecosystems even in the next 100 years, other studies assert that persistent destructive human activities will greatly catalyze major melting of ice caps, which definitely will lead to extinction of various plant and animal species, and reclamation of low lands.

Even if the effects of Polar Ice Cap Melting are still disputed, we humans should know better. Hence we should always think big and always consider the consequences of our actions, especially if they are threatening to our privilege of realizing a healthy everyday existence.
